How to choose the right EV charger?
The first thing you need to consider is the power of your EV car charger. Some vehicles can take up to 7 kW, and others like the Renault Zoe can charge with 22 kW AC. Always aim to reach the maximum charging speed of your vehicle. Then check your electrical system. If you have access to 3-phase electricity you might want to go with the 11 kW or 22 kW EV home chargers. It's crucial to match your EV's capabilities to the charger's power output. For instance, a 3.6 kW or 7 kW EV charger may be suitable for smaller electric cars (up to 40 kWh battery), while larger vehicles (50+ kWh battery) might benefit from 3-phase chargers like our 11 kW or 22 kW charging solutions for faster charging times. Another very important factor to consider is the standard of your charging port. Electric cars in the United States and Canada come with a Type 1 port, the European standard is Type 2 and all Chinese EVs come with a GB/T port. If this sounds confusing feel free to reach out to us.
